Hi! I'm Katie, the artist behind the lens. I love capturing those first moments when you bring your baby home. I'm married to my college sweetheart and we have 3 beautiful children together. You'll see them a lot in my work as they are some of my favorite subjects. A few fun facts about me: I LOVE peanut butter, art & the PACKERS! I will definitely plan sessions around Packer games....

THE 411

Newborn Lifestyle Sessions are done in the comfort of your own home or in my natural light studio in Waukesha. Once your baby arrives, contact me and we will set up a time for your session. Sessions are best when the baby is 5-14 days old and scheduled on weekdays.

How to Prepare: I will be using rooms such as the nursery, master bedroom & living room. All I need is natural light! I recommend having your favorite swaddles, a white onesie, and any outfits, headbands, etc. on hand.

Not sure what to wear? Keep it simple. Coordinate colors rather than everyone matching in the same color. Avoid bright neon colors or too many patterns. Stick to a color pallet you love and coordinate from there. Colors that photograph well are neutrals (gray, white, tan, etc.), light colors or dark muted tones. WHAT TO EXPECT

I let you handle the baby, but I guide you on what direction we are going, where to sit/stand, etc. Occasionally, I will step in and help if we are swaddling. Posing is very loose. I have a handful of ideas, but also pull from inspiration at your session. If the baby needs to be fed or changed, no problem. That's why I allow so much time for these sessions. I want you and your family to be comfotable!

AFTER THE SESSION

I hand select the best photos to edit. Turn around time is typically 1-3 weeks. You will receive a password protected online gallery, where you can download, save & print on your own.
