Summer in Wisconsin is my favorite! One of my favorite locations for summer is the 3rd Ward. This urban backdrop is perfect for photos.

Mini Sessions are short and sweet. They only last 20 minutes.

How many photos do we get?

10 Edited Photos...with the option to purchase additional digitals.

Where do Mini Sessions take place?

At a predetermined location. Details are sent out about a week before your session.

What to expect?

I run these sessions back to back every 30 minutes. Please arrive 10 minutes early.

What happens after the session?

I hand select the best photos, edit and upload to a password protected gallery. From there, you pick your favorite 10 photos with the option to purchase additional digitals.

Simple Studio Mini Sessions are available for booking in February, March and April.

Spring and Summer Mini Sessions will be released to my FB VIP Group and Newsletter Subscribers on Friday, February 12th at 8:00am.

What to wear at your next family photo session

Okay, so you booked your family photos with Katie Bingen Photography. Now the question is….what to wear!?

Each and every client of mine has exclusive access to a styling service. Take the headache out of planning outfits for the whole family. Upon booking, you will receive an email from me outlining how to prepare for your upcoming session which includes how to use this amazing service!

Here are a few tips for planning your family’s outfits:

Coordinate

Remember the days of wearing jeans and white t-shirts….and I mean everyone?! Let’s not do that. Coordinating outfits with patterns and solid colors will create a cohesive look. Pull colors from the patterned outfit.

Colors

Neutral and muted tones. (Think white, gray, navy, mustard, olive green, maroon, etc.) These tones will photograph beautifully. Stay away from bright, neon colors.

Pick mom’s outfit first!

Here’s a little tip….pick out YOUR outfit first! Something you feel comfortable in, feel good in. You will love your photos that much more if you’re wearing something you feel confident in!

I’m starting to book sessions through August. It’s never too early to reach out and get on my calendar! Today I’m sharing one of my favorite sessions from last summer! The Petrus Family joined me last August for their twin daughters’ one year old milestone pictures. The girls were so sweet!

Carter | Hubertus Maternity Session

Ashley and Michael joined me last fall for their Maternity Session before they welcomed their baby boy about a month later. The Brewers happened to be playing a playoff game during our session, so naturally we were checking the score in between shots. :)

Zimdars | Waukesha Milestone Session

The Zimdars family joined me in my Waukesha Studio a few weeks ago for a family mini session with their adorable 3 boys. The identical twins were days away from turning 6 months old and big brother was full of smiles! Hands full…hearts full. I love these milestone sessions. <3

DeBruin | Brookfield Mini Session

The DeBruin Family joined me last fall for a family mini session. It’s always intimidating when a fellow photographer asks you to take their family pictures! Photographers need photographers too. It’s so important to get behind the frame with your family. I’m so honored you chose me, DeBruin family! <3

Dykstra | Holiday Mini Session

The Dykstra family braved the cold for their family session last November. I’ve had the honor of capturing memories for them since their littlest was 6 months old. I love watching families grow!

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year! Football, leaves changing and I get to see so many new and familiar faces. The Nagel Family joined me last fall for a family mini session. Fall Mini Sessions are almost here! Who's ready for cooler weather, fall colors, hot apple cider... and FOOTBALL SEASON?! I know I am. And while I'm daydreaming of fall weather....I'm also shopping for my family for back to school and cooler weather. 

Below are some inspiration for planning what to wear for your Fall Sessions. Places I like to shop are H&M, Old Navy, Gap, Target, Carter's and Amazon. Most of these pieces below are on sale now!

Here are a few more tips for styling your photo session:

1. Stick to neutral colors. Avoid bright, neon or logo clothes.
2. Pick a color palette you love and will look good when you print your pictures to hang on your walls.
3. Stick to one pattern and coordinate colors. Its best not to match with the exact same shirt or pattern.
4. Ask me for help! Seriously, if you have a question, I'd be more than happy to give you some guidance.

Zimdars | Family Lifestyle Session

The Zimdars Family welcomed their adorable son last fall. I was so lucky to be able to capture these moments with them 'in their now' on a chilly spring night. That first year flies by so fast. <3 I would love to capture your family's 'now' so you can remember the tiny toes, giggles, smiles at mom and dad, and everything inbetween.

Throwback Thursday to this gorgeous maternity session in Waukesha, WI.  A beautiful warm fall morning, with this couple was so much fun! Their baby boy made his arrival a few days after Christmas. Watch for his newborn blog post coming soon. ;)

Sticking with the snow theme this week. We just got snow yesterday, so it seems fitting! Although, I am definitely ready for warmer weather. This is a throwback Thursday to last Christmas when I took lifestyle photos for a couple with a 6 month old....puppy in Pewaukee! Seriously, if I could photograph puppies and kids all the time.... :)

This was a fun session....the couple was great, they even got in a few frames!

Let it Snow | Couple Session

These two were troopers at their snowy Delafield session! Early last December, a snow storm was coming in right as we were starting our session.  By the end of it we were all covered in snow. This has to be one of my favorite snow sessions to date!
