My new studio in Waukesha is perfect for families, newborns and branding sessions!
Congratulations! I’m so happy you’re here! If you’re considering a newborn session, my Waukesha Studio is a great option.
Natural light, all white and you don’t have to clean your house! I can do sessions in your home too. All I need is good natural light.
All you need to bring is a few favorite outfits, swaddles and headbands. Dogs are allowed in my studio.
My studio has a crib, bed, and benches.
The all white, simple set up keeps the focus on just you and your brand new baby.
It’s never too early to reach out and grab a spot on my calendar! Let’s chat.
Congratulations! You want to schedule a newborn session, but are unsure if you want to have it in your home. Katie Bingen Photography offers Newborn Lifestyle Sessions in their all white, modern Waukesha Studio.
Newborn Lifestyle Sessions take place within the 5-14 day window. If it happens to go slightly outside the window, it’s no big deal. The earlier you reach out to schedule with me, the better!
I recommend a favorite outfit(s), swaddle(s), headband(s) and a white onesie. One advantage of the studio is you don’t have to clean up your house for your session!
A relaxed environment. These sessions are led by the baby. If your baby needs to eat, have a diaper change, be soothed, it is no big deal. Have toddlers? If they need a break, we will switch it up and focus on mom and baby. We will go with the flow. I have children of my own, so I get it! :)

Congratulations! You’re expecting and have a newborn session scheduled for in your home. What happens next?
First off, plan your outfits around you. You want to feel comfortable and confident. Stick to neutral colors and build a color pallet off of your outfit. Don’t match, but coordinate colors. I offer style and select for all my clients to help in planning their outfits. As always, reach out for advice! I’m happy to guide you in the right direction.
Secondly, prepare your home. I typically shoot in the living room, master bedroom and nursery. Sometimes, I’ll use the kitchen too! Clean and declutter these rooms ahead of your session. I’ll be looking for the most natural light, so if there is another room in your house we could use, great!
This goes hand in hand, but the time of day is important when doing a photoshoot in your home. Things to think about… when does my home get the best natural light? I default to late morning for in home sessions as that usually gives the best natural light in the house. (Late morning also tends to work for older siblings that still take naps in the early afternoon.)
Relax. I’ll be coming in the comfort of your own home to capture those first few moments with your new baby. I’ll get a few of those everyone looking at the camera, but my favorite to capture are those in between moments. You gazing at your newborn, how tiny they are in your arms or how suddenly you toddler doesn’t look so little anymore. The session will be led by your baby (or toddler). If we need to take breaks for eating, soothing, tantrums or diaper changes… that is okay! I’m a mom of 3 and get it. :)
Lastly, if you have pets….they will be in your photos. That is all. Can’t wait to meet you and your family!

It’s such an honor to capture your family. I’m still amazed, I get to do what I love. They say “if you do what you love, you won’t work a day in your life.” <3

Yesterday, I shared the Petrus Family Session from a warm August day. Today, I’m sharing the Padilla Family Session from the same park last November. <3
The DeBruin Family joined me last fall for a family mini session. It’s always intimidating when a fellow photographer asks you to take their family pictures! Photographers need photographers too. It’s so important to get behind the frame with your family. I’m so honored you chose me, DeBruin family! <3
Last spring the Grow family joined me for their Maternity Session at Nagawaukee Park. This mama to be was glowing! Just a few short weeks later, their baby boy arrived. <3
The Inglish Family joined me for a Holiday Mini Session back in November. Last April, little Lennon was in my MKE studio for her newborn session. I love capturing these milestones for families. <3

Fall Mini Sessions are almost here! Who's ready for cooler weather, fall colors, hot apple cider... and FOOTBALL SEASON?! I know I am. And while I'm daydreaming of fall weather....I'm also shopping for my family for back to school and cooler weather.
Below are some inspiration for planning what to wear for your Fall Sessions. Places I like to shop are H&M, Old Navy, Gap, Target, Carter's and Amazon. Most of these pieces below are on sale now!
Headbands | Baby Girl Outfit | Girl's Dress | Boy's Shirt | Women's Dress | Men's Shirt
Here are a few more tips for styling your photo session:
1. Stick to neutral colors. Avoid bright, neon or logo clothes.
2. Pick a color palette you love and will look good when you print your pictures to hang on your walls.
3. Stick to one pattern and coordinate colors. Its best not to match with the exact same shirt or pattern.
4. Ask me for help! Seriously, if you have a question, I'd be more than happy to give you some guidance.

You would be surprised what you can pull together right out of your own closet! <3
The Popp family welcomed baby Sullivan back in June. I was honored to capture those first moments as a family of three in my studio a few weeks ago. Welcome baby Sullivan!
Sweet Annabelle made these two a big sister (again) and big brother last month. This adorable family of five invited me into their home to document those first few days at home. Congratulations Emma and Jon!
Welcoming a baby is such an exciting time in your family's life. Zoey's family invited me into their new home when she was just 11 days old. The two family dogs even joined in for a few portraits. Send me all the babies and pets! :)
Seriously. This is what I love and I'm so honored to be chosen to capture your family! Welcome baby Zoey!

Scrolling through my Instagram feed to find a picture of me was challenging. I need to step up my self portrait game. [I don't like being in front of the camera.]
Well... hi! [shyly waves at all of you.] I'm Katie, the one behind the lens. I tend to be on the shy side, but love being social! I'm married to my college sweetheart and we have two beautiful kids together. Lilly (4) and Jack (1).
